10 (or 2) Fingers

This little girl is officially obsessed with her hands (just like her buddy Jack), and this photo with two fingers in her mouth and two sticking out perfectly represents what she does 99% of the day!!

Favorite Bear

Ruby has a favorite cuddly bear that Auntie Winnah and Ogan gave her for Christmas- it so so soft and snuggly and she loves it!

Everyone has fun in Music Class

Especially these three, who have taken a MAJOR liking to Miss Madeleine...

Future Olympian

This afternoon I took Sadie ice skating for the first time. Our friends Allison & Olivia met us at the rink. Sadie LOVED skating, and was insistent upon the fact that she wanted to do it herself... "No Mama hold me!!"

Members Only

Yesterday we took the girls into Boston for a visit to the Children's Museum. Thanks to my parents, we are now members of the museum, and were able to go in the "members only" expedited line to check in. We felt pretty cool about that :)

All You Need is Love

In this house, love is all you need, because without it, would grown men REALLY dress up like princesses?

Or would you be enamored with every little expression your baby makes?

Would you spend $26 dollars on a t-shirt for your 2-year old, just because you think it's funny?

In only a few short months, I have come to see that sister love is the best love!

Happy Valentine's Day! Mama/Martha Stewart decided to make Sadie's Valentine's Day present this year- a matching/memory game with pictures of all her friends. Needless to say, it was a big hit for the little girl!

Here's my little baby Valentine, just moments before we had a code brown and had to throw away this adorable but unsalvageable onesie...

Here's one that I happened to catch on the camera... one of the three times that Ruby has rolled over!

A Day In The Life Of...

Ruby. A day in the life of this girl includes:

Napping with Dadda (or laying with Dadda while he naps),

Tummy time,

Playing with her sister's favorite Cookie Monster,

and posing (nude). Oh yeah, and many, many outfit changes.

For Goodness Cakes!

Well, I have decided to take the plunge and give this whole cake-baking-and-decorating thing a decent try. First step, come up with a catchy but not too wordy name. I had a long list of possibilities, including Piece of Cake, Batter Up, Port Cakes, Clipper Cakes, Take the Cake, Bake Me A Cake, and Just Add Cake, but For Goodness Cakes was my favorite. Here are some photos of my most recent cakes, just to build up the portfolio a bit!

Bowling Cake I made for my dad's surprise 60th birthday party.

Sesame Street cake made for Sadie's 2nd birthday party.

Baptism/Dedication Cake for my nephew Patrick.

Practicing a pregnant belly cake for a baby shower.

New 'do

This morning I decided it was time for Sadie to get a haircut. Not just a trim, like she had gotten before, but a REAL haircut. So we bundled up and, despite the snow, drove the 1/4 mile over to Super Cuts. Sadie was a good girl during the haircut (even though she wanted to sit on my lap the whole time), and seemed to like her new 'do!

And here's one of the happy little butterball:

Comparison

Can't help but comparing my two baby girls, both at 3 months old, both in their Auntie onesie!

Sadie, 3 months

Ruby, 3 months

Girl time

Sadie's friend Elsie invited some girls over for a showing of her favorite movie, the Barbie Nutcracker, and a tea party to follow.

Sadie got all dressed up for the event:

She loved dancing with her buddies:

Sipping on some tea

Goodbye, Auntie Winnah

Our beloved Auntie Winnah has left the East Coast and headed off to Utah. Here she is spending a few last moments with Ruby.

No joke, this is exactly how Auntie Winnah/Emily looked when she was a baby.

We tried to cope with our sadness of Em leaving by getting fired up for the PATS game. Unfortunately the results of this game only left us feeling a bit more depressed.....
